APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 nonconference decision to Lakeland University in the season opener Saturday at the Lawrence Courts.
  The match also marked the debut of rookie head coach Eric Schacht, who returned to his alma mater to guide the women's and men's programs.

Anna Vanden Acker was part of two of Lawrence's points on the day. Vanden Acker teamed with rookie
Logan Kane to post an 8-3 win over Olivia Heling and Kassidee Webb at No. 1 doubles. It was Kane's first collegiate victory.
  Vanden Acker also posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Mary Blossom at No. 2 singles.
Lizzy Angemi picked up the other win for the Vikings as the senior recorded a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Sadie Conway at No. 5.Â
