JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The Lawrence University men's tennis team swept the doubles competition on Saturday afternoon and romped to an 8-1 Midwest Conference victory over Illinois College at the Bellatti Tennis Complex.
  Lawrence (5-8, 3-1 MWC) got the day off to a perfect start with victories in all three of the doubles matches.
Andrew Larson and
Dylan Delgado were 8-6 winners at No. 1 doubles, and
Gabriel Garcia and
Ethan Uribe also won 8-6 at No. 2.
Owen Horton and
Rahul Sabnis completed the doubles sweep with an 8-4 win at No. 3.
  Larson dominated Jeff Wernsing 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 to lead Lawrence's singles contingent. Uribe at No. 5 and
Jonah Friedmann at No. 6 also won in straight sets for the Vikings. Horton split the opening two sets with Grayson Dupre, but Horton won a monumental super-tiebreaker 14-12 to win the match. Delgado also picked up a victory at No. 2 after an injury default.
    Illinois College falls to 7-10 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
