Appleton, Wis. — The Lawrence University men's tennis team hosted St. Norbert College on Saturday afternoon competing across the lineup in a 6–1 decision.
The match opened with doubles play, where the Vikings competed closely throughout the lineup. At No. 1 doubles, William Reichen and Benjamin Hoppe challenged Ryan Garland and Jackson Harp before falling 6–4. At No. 2 doubles, Gabriel Garcia and Owen Horton were edged 6–2 by Brett Daniels and Charlie Keller, while Will Lewis and Will Phillips rounded out doubles action with a 6–3 decision against Nolan Pearson and Seth Kosatkiewicz.
Lawrence's standout performance came at the top of the singles lineup, where Reichen delivered an impressive three-set victory at No. 1 singles. The first year opened with a 6–4 first set over Daniels, dropped the second set 6–3, and responded with a clutch 15–13 win in the match tiebreak to secure the Vikings' lone team point of the day.
St. Norbert earned wins at the remaining singles positions despite strong efforts from the Lawrence lineup. At No. 2 singles, Garland defeated Hoppe 6–0, 6–1. Garcia battled Keller in a tightly contested match at No. 3 singles, falling 6–4, 7–6(5), 6–0. Horton competed at No. 4 singles, where Harp came away with a 6–0, 6–2 victory.
The Green Knights closed singles play with wins at the bottom of the order. Pearson topped Jonathan Myszka 6–1, 6–3 at No. 5 singles, and Kosatkiewicz earned a 6–1, 6–0 decision over Xander Priest at No. 6.
