APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team buried 14 3-pointers Saturday en route to an 85-52 Midwest Conference victory over Knox College at Alexander Gymnasium.

Lawrence went 14-for-28 from beyond the arc with Joe Duero and Brad Sendell doing most of the damage. Duero came off the bench to go 6-for-7 on treys and scored a career-high 18 points for the Vikings (7-5, 4-1 MWC). Sendell scored a game-high 21 points and went 4-for-6 on 3-pointers.

George Mavrakis added 13 points, a team-high eight rebounds and a team-best four steals for the Vikings.

Wes Jolly came off the bench to lead Knox (1-11, 0-5) with 19 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Both teams got off to slow starts, but Duero provided the spark for the Vikings. He hit four consecutive 3-pointers, sandwiched around a Mavrakis layup, to give Lawrence a 16-10 lead with 9:06 left in the first half.

After a layup from Ikenna Ozor temporarily slowed down the Vikings, Lawrence finished the first half on an 18-7 run. Sendell capped the half by hitting a 3-pointer as Lawrence built a 34-19 lead at the half.

After Ozor opened the second half with a layup, the Vikings took off again. Lawrence went on a quick 10-2 run as Sendell and Mason Materna both hit 3-pointers to give the Vikings a 44-23 lead with 17:36 left.

Knox got the lead back to 19 points twice, the last time at 46-27, before Lawrence had another scoring outburst. The Vikings scored the game's next 16 points, including eight by Sendell, and Duero capped the run with another 3-pointer to give Lawrence a 62-27 lead with 11:27 left.

Duero's six 3-pointers is a career high.

The 35-point lead was Lawrence's largest of the game, and Knox didn't get closer than 27 points the rest of the way.
