MSOE shuts down Vikings

APPLETON, Wis. -- The Milwaukee School of Engineering men's soccer team got two goals from Rade Novakovich Wednesday and went on to a 4-0 nonconference victory over Lawrence University on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.

Novakovich and Drew Baumann scored in a span of three minutes midway through the first half to give MSOE (1-2-0) a 2-0 lead at the break. The Raiders then scored two goals in a six-minute span in the second half to seal the victory.

MSOE piled up 26 shots, and the Vikings were held to seven.

Ron Marchionna made three saves in 81 minutes and Patrick Grund played the final 8:35 to combine for the shutout. Cole Kelez made four saves and Hunter Lanton made one stop for the Vikings (0-3-0).
