APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University swimming and diving teams both placed fourth Saturday at the Gene Davis Invitational at Boldt Natatorium.
  The Lawrence men were fourth with 289 points, and Lake Forest College was first with 756.
  Will Phillips led the Lawrence men by taking the title in the 100-yard freestyle with a winning time of 48.02 seconds, and he grabbed second in the 50 freestyle in 21.89 seconds.
  The Lawrence men also won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:19.11 with the team of Phillips, Sebastian Stacey, Wiley Curtis and Keegan Mencke.Â
  Jackson Bertman took a first and a second in the diving competition. Bertman was first on the 3-meter board with a score of 370.85 and took second on the 1-meter board with a score of 362.45.Â
  Michael Thorson swam to second in the 200 backstroke in 2:06.49 and grabbed third in the 500 freestyle in 5:08.53. Curtis swam to third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.74 and took third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:20.91.Â
  On the women's side, Lawrence was fourth with 369 points, and Lake Forest was first with 730.
    The 200 women's medley relay team of
Zoey Ziegler,
Irina Starostin,
Stella Macfarlane and
Kiran Jayasinghe grabbed first in 1:58.52.
    Starostin hauled in a pair of second-place finishes as she took the runner-up spot in the 100 freestyle in 56.49 seconds and in the 100 butterfly in 1:00.82. Ziegler finished third in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:04.47, and Jayasinghe was third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:52.43.
    The women's 200 freestyle relay team of Jayasinghe, Mattie Ramont,
Lilly Lum and
Kristyn Landon took second in 1:53.73. The women's 400 freestyle relay of Ziegler, Lum, Macfarlane and Starostin placed second in 3:53.18.
