Box Score   MADISON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's tennis team put together a strong showing at the Midwest Conference Championships at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

Anna Vanden Acker reached the championship semifinals at No. 2 singles, and No. 1 player
Clara Hills and No. 3 player
Logan Kane both won consolation titles. Hills also teamed with
Tess McGlenn to take the consolation title at No. 2 doubles.
  Vanden Acker, the lone senior on the team, broke through in the quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Clara Bach of Illinois College. Vanden Acker then faced top seed and eventual champion Lilli Dockal of Lake Forest College, and Dockal posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the semifinals.
  Hills had a tough quarterfinal match with Grinnell College's Anika Sheth, who pulled out a 6-7, 7-5, 6-3 win. Hills came back the next day to defeat Illinois College's Alyssa Wise 8-3 in the consolation final.
  Kane dropped a 6-0, 6-3 decision to Sophie Muir of Illinois College in the quarterfinals, but she also bounced back nicely in the consolation final. Kane rolled to an 8-1 win over Ripon College's Jessi Griepentrog to take the consolation title.
  Hills and McGlenn lost a tight 8-5 decision to Muir and Lily Ingram of Illinois College in the quarterfinals. Hills and McGlenn then routed Monmouth College's Kimber Calvert and Natalie Holst 8-0 in the consolation final.
  Lawrence also reached the consolation final at Nos. 4, 5 and 6 singles.
  Cornell's Audrey Small defeated McGlenn 6-2, 6-4 in the quarterfinals at No. 4 singles. McGlenn then defeated Ripon's Catherine Skoglund 8-6 in the consolation semifinals. McGlenn rallied to force a tiebreaker against Holst in the consolation final, but Holst won 8-7 after a 7-3 victory in the tiebreaker.

Sky Shinohara also reached the consolation final at No. 5 singles. After Shinohara fell to Morgan Keefe of Illinois College 6-2, 6-4 in the quarterfinals, she bounced back in the consolation semifinal. Shinohara romped past Monmouth's Alayna McKinley 8-1 in the consolation semifinals. Shinohara rallied in the consolation final against Ripon's Allison Pavlovec to force a tiebreaker. Shinohara saved four match points before Pavlovec won 8-7 with a 10-8 victory in the tiebreaker.

Rachael Pofahl made it to the consolation final at No. 6 singles for the Vikings. Pofahl fell 6-2, 6-1 to Cornell's Jenna Benkufsky in the quarterfinals but notched a victory in the consolation semifinals. Pofahl knocked off Ripon's Isabella Engstrom 8-1 in the consolation semifinals before falling 8-6 to Illinois College's Sabrina Ingram in another tight match.
  At No. 1 doubles, Vanden Acker and Kane faced a rough road after falling to Cornell's Mac Graves and Michaela Clark. In a strange twist, Graves and Clark upset No. 1 seeds Sheth and Nichole Henning of Grinnell in the semifinals. That meant Vanden Acker and Kane had to face Grinnell in the consolation semifinals. The Grinnell duo pulled out an 8-2 win in another tight match.
  At No. 3 doubles, Lawrence's
Madelena Priest and
Evie Vacek fell 8-1 to Lake Forest's Anika Kinnear and Kate Feist in the quarterfinals. Monmouth's McKinley and Tiah Riggs topped the Lawrence duo 8-5 in a tight match in the consolation semifinals.  Â
