UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. --
Cristobal Perez Fourcade led Lawrence University's contingent of three fencers at the NCAA Championships at Penn State University.
  Perez Fourcade finished 21st in saber, and teammate
Eli Freyre de Andrade finished 24th in saber. Senior
Thomas Craley placed 24th in foil.
  "I was proud of the guys for continuing to put forth effort and work to refocus," Lawrence coach
Eric Momberg said. "The experience will contribut to making the program stronger in the years to come."
  Perez Fourcade, a first-year fencer from Cordoba, Argentina, posted a 6-16 record over two days of competition on Friday and Saturday. He scored 66 touches in his 22 bouts. Freyre de Andrade, a sophomore from Denver, Colo., finished 24th after his 22 bouts. He scored 32 touches during the competition.
    Darii Lukashenko of St. John's (N.Y.) University won the saber title.
  A senior from Redding, Conn., Craley also finished 24th after competing in 23 bouts. He scored 42 touches.
  Chase Emmer of the University of Notre Dame won the foil championship.
  This marks the first time in Lawrence fencing history that the Vikings sent three competitors to the NCAA Championshps. Â
