APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University men's basketball players
Casey Schoenecker and
Nicholas Gouriotis have been chosen for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.
    To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average and played in at least 90 percent (or started two-thirds) of their team's games.
  Schoenecker (Madison, Wis./Oregon), a sophomore forward, is a biology major and sports a 3.50 grade point average. A member of the Academic All-Midwest Conference team as well, Schoenecker was chosen for the academic all-district team in his first year of eligibility.
  Schoenecker, who was chosen as Midwest Conference Player of the Week in December 2024, put together a standout season by averaging 14.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 56.4 percent from the floor.Â
  Gouriotis (Elgin, Ill./Burlington Central), a sophomore forward, is a business and entrepreneurship major with a 4.0 grade point average. Gouriotis, also a member of the Academic All-Midwest Conference team, averaged 9.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game while shooting 44.2 percent from the floor. Gouriotis earned the CSC honor in his first year of eligibility.
