APPLETON, Wis. -- Five Lawrence University softball players have been selected for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

Avery Chilson were all honored by the CSC.
  Haller (Eau Claire, Wis./North), a senior catcher/outfielder, was chosen for the third consecutive year. She is a triple major in biochemistry, biology and Spanish and has a 3.84 grade point average. A four-time All-Midwest Conference selection, Haller put together a stellar 2025 with a .363 batting average. She pounded out nine doubles, two triples, 10 home runs, 43 runs batted in and 45 runs scored. She led the team in homers, RBIs and runs scored.
  Hughes (Wausau, Wis./West), a senior outfielder, was honored on the academic all-district team for the first time. An English (creative writing) major, Hughes has a 3.83 grade point average. She had her best season for the Vikings in 2025 when she hit .316 with eight doubles, one triple, one homer, 22 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
  Gonzalez (Elk Grove Village, Ill./James B. Conant), a junior infielder, was selected for the second consecutive season. Gonzalez, who is a biology major, has a 3.84 grade point average. She had an outstanding season in 2025 and was named to the All-Midwest Conference team for the second time. Gonzalez hit .356 on the season with seven doubles, 11 RBIs and 14 runs scored.Â
  Doherty (Algonquin, Ill./Huntley), a junior third baseman, received academic all-district honors for the first time. A computer science major, Doherty has a 3.63 grade point average. Doherty had a tremendous season for the Vikings and earned All-Region 9 honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and was an All-Midwest Conference selection. Doherty hit .431 in 2025 with eight doubles, four triples, five homers, 33 RBIs and 43 runs scored. Lawrence's lead-off hitter put together a .735 slugging percentage and .597 on-base percentage for a stunning 1.332 OPS.
  Chilson (Lake Mills, Wis./Lake Mills) was chosen for the academic all-district team in the first season she was eligible. The sophomore pitcher is a psychology major with a 3.66 grade point average. Chilson also was chosen for the All-Midwest Conference team for the second consecutive season. She went 5-3 with two shutouts in conference play with a 2.38 earned run average. On the season, Chilson finished with an 8-11 record with a 5.00 ERA. She tossed a team-high 113.1 innings with 70 strikeouts and 37 walks.Â
    To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average and meet minimums for participation during the season. This marks the second consecutive year Lawrence has place the maximum number of five student-athletes on the academic all-district team.
  Lawrence finished the season with a 19-21 record and took third in the Midwest Conference with a 10-6 mark. Under first-year head coach
Korey Krueger, the Vikings qualified for the Midwest Conference Tournament for the first time in a decade.Â
