APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University softball team had 12 players earn the Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete award.
  The Vikings posted a record number of award winners this year with the dozen athletes earning recognition. Lawrence had 11 players earn the honor in both 2024 and 2023. To receive the Scholar-Athlete award, a student must have a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the 2024-25 academic year.Â
  Picking up the honor for the fourth consecutive were seniors
Mattigan Haller (Eau Claire, Wis./North),
Taylor Hughes (Wausau, Wis./West) and
Khayla Santiago (Morton Grove, Ill./Maine East).
  A catcher/outfielder, Haller also is a four-time All-Midwest Conference selection. She is a triple major in biology, biochemistry and Spanish. Hughes, an outfielder, is an English (creative writing) major. An outfielder, Santiago is a neuroscience major.
  Picking up the honor for the third time were
Janessa Gonzalez (Elk Grove Village, Ill./James B. Conant),Â
Kourtney Mercer (Mazomanie, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) and
Adrie Villa (Chino, Calif./Don Antonio Lugo). A junior infielder, Gonzalez is a biology major and earned All-Midwest Conference honors in 2025. Mercer, a senior infielder/pitcher, pitched a combined no-hitter in 2025 and is a biology major. An outfielder, Villa is an English (creative writing) major.
  Two players,
Avery Chilson (Twin Lakes, Wis./Twin Lakes) and
Jordan Wallin-Swanson (Georgetown, Ky./Great Crossing), earned the award for the second time. A sophomore pitcher/infielder, Chilson was a 2025 All-Midwest Conference selection and is majoring in psychology. A senior catcher, Wallin-Swanson is a double major in business and entrepreneurship and theater arts.

Kylan Arndt (Fisher, Ill./Fisher),
Janna Bode (Moose Lake, Minn./Moose Lake),
Zoe Doherty (Algonquin, Ill./Huntley) and
Georgia Sedlack (Woodstock, Ill./North) were all honored for the first time. Arndt, who also received the Midwest Conference's Elite 20 Award this spring, also worked a combined no-hitter this season. She is a psychology major. Bode, a junior outfielder, is an environmental science major. Doherty, a junior third baseman, was an NFCA All-Great Lakes Region selection and an All-Midwest Conference pick. She is a computer science major. Sedlack, a first-year pitcher who was part of a combined no-hitter, is undecided on a major.
  Among the 400-plus NCAA Division III schools with softball programs, Lawrence's 3.46 team grade point average ranks 103rd in the nation.
