APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University women's soccer standout
Kate Noonan picked up her second Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor on Monday.
  Noonan (Osceola, Ind./Penn), a sophomore defender, picked up the honor after leading the Vikings to a shutout and picking up a goal and an assist.
  In Lawrence's 2-0 win over Grinnell College to open Midwest Conference play, Noonan assisted on
Ava Elders' goal in the 55th minute to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead. Noonan then scored on a penalty kick with 3:15 remaining to seal the victory for the Vikings. Noonan led the defensive charge for Lawrence as the Vikings limited Grinnell to five shots, including just two shots on goal.Â
  This is the second Defensive Player of the Week award this season for Noonan, who picked up the honor on September 2.
  Lawrence returns to action on Tuesday when the Vikings travel to Beloit College.
