APPLETON, Wis. -- Lawrence University volleyball standout
Margaret Hahnke earned Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors in the wake of the Vikings' opening weekend of play.
Hahnke (Appleton, Wis./North), a sophomore outside hitter, was selected after leading Lawrence to a 3-1 record at the Chick-fil-A Invitational at St. Norbert College.
Chosen for the all-tournament team, Hahnke piled up 71 kills, including a weekend-best 25 in a victory over Hamline University. She averaged 4.73 kills per set and hit .258 for the tournament.Â
Hahnke, who also picked up eight service aces, collected 67 digs for an average of 4.47 per set.
In addition to the win over Hamline, Lawrence also knocked off Augsburg University and the College of St. Scholastica.
This is the first Player of the Week honor for Hahnke, and she is the first Lawrence player to be chosen for the offensive award since Arianna Neumeyer during the 2018 season.
Lawrence returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Marian University and Rockford University at Alexander Gymnasium.
