MIDDLETON, Wis. --
Andrew Larson and
Yui Ito led the Lawrence University men's tennis team Saturday during the singles competition at the Midwest Conference Championships.
  Larson and Ito both reached the championship semifinals in their respective flights before being eliminated.Â
  Playing No. 1 singles, Larson took out Monmouth College's Andrew Shie 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals. Larson then fell to eventual champion Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk of Lake Forest College 6-3, 6-3 in the semifinals.
  Ito, playing No. 4, rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Cornell College's Bryce Fincher in the quarterfinals. Ito's day ended with a 6-0, 6-3 semifinal loss to eventual champion Karch Knoll of Grinnell College.

Jackson Gross took home the consolation title at No. 5 singles. Gross lost to Cornell's Edwin Holyoake 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) in the quarterfinals. Gross then knocked off Matthew Simonson of Monmouth 8-7, including a 9-7 win in the tiebreaker, in the consolation title match.

Kenneth Penaherrera-Quiroz also won the consolation title at No. 6. Penaherrera-Quiroz lost 6-3, 6-0 to Cornell's Orion Mason in the quarterfinals, but then beat Senaf Fayissa of Illinois College 8-5 in the consolation final.
  Both
Cam Strawn at No. 2 and
Dylan Delgado at No. 3 finished with 0-2 records on the day.
